Giving Back through Cosplay

Kids Can Cosplay is a non-profit 501(c)3 charity whose mission is to make a positive difference in our community using the art of cosplay.

Supporting the Community

Stefanie joined Kids Can Cosplay in 2019, seeing it as an an opportunity to help the community through creative expression.
Since then, she’s been an active participant in charity and community events and joined the board of directors in 2022.

Stefanie has participated in numerous community outreach and charity events. She has been a member of the leadership team for several large community events, including the 2023 OC Autism “Breakfast with Santa” for which she received certificates of recognition from the California Legislature Assembly, The City of Garden Grove, and the City of Irvine.

Stefanie has also been a guest panelist at many comic and anime conventions and community library events, staffed the KCC outreach booth at conventions, and participated in toy drives and fundraisers.

During COVID, she recorded in-character story time videos for their YouTube channel, produced ‘pass’ videos featuring multiple members of the KCC team, and acted as characters for virtual visitations.

Stefanie Carlson

You can see her every year at the Tustin Meadows 4th of July Parade, where she (and her kids) join the KCC team for this fun community event.

The Kids Can Cosplay character team is available for appearances that fit the mission of KCC – this includes hospital visits, library and charity events for other partner non-profit organizations where the KCC mission statement aligns with the partner organization’s goals. For more information please visit their web site www.kidscancosplay.org

KCC does not do birthday parties or private parties. However, Stefanie does – and due to her experience in working with many of the special needs organizations through KCC she would love to see how she can help you celebrate.

If you’re coming here from a Kids Can Cosplay referral, please let Stefanie know, as each booking does result in a donation back to the organization.

Library Story event As Captain Marvel at the Tustin Library for Kids Can Cosplay

One of Stefanie’s favorite things to do at library events is to lead an interactive story time!

She has now led a story event at the Tustin Library (Orange County Public Library), the Canyon Hills Library (Anaheim Public Library), and twice at the Main Branch of the Orange Public Library.
