Just finished photographing 130+ children at The Creek Preschool & Kindergarten for their Spring Portraits. And, with Mother’s Day fast approaching, we turned the Spring Garden set into a special set of images just for Mommy!

For an animal loving little girl, there was no other option for her birthday party but California Pets!

From puppies, hamsters, and chinchillas to lizards, snakes, and frogs… she got to hold them all!

No frogs were kissed, but puppies were played with, hamsters ran about, the chinchilla was soft… and the lizards and snakes hung out… and afterwards there was cake!

The birthday girl and her friends celebrated in a private room in the American Girl Cafe, with a special menu of “Olivia’s 9th Birthday Celebration” which started with delicious “warm welcome” cinnamon rolls (the girls could have munched those all day!) and ended with cake and ice cream… between which were appetizers, main courses, and a lot of laughs, games, and fun!

Her assignment was to take Adventure Bear with her, take a few photos of what they were up to, and then write up (with Daddy’s help) what they did together for the class book.

The first night, he went to Target with her and Daddy to pick out a helmet for her bike…

And then that weekend, when she came over to model for the school pictures background test, Adventure Bear came too.

After her test photos were completed, she borrowed my point and shoot camera and did her own pictures with Adventure Bear too!

Chick-Fil-A Orange‘s Kids Nights are so much fun!  This particular night was Superhero Night!

So of course I went in costume too, and brought my assistant as my mini me (we were both Bat Girls!). We met super-kids from many comic books, and had a heroic time creating masks to disguise our secret identities.

Costume People was there making balloon creations for us to play with too.

It was another fun evening at Chick-Fil-A Orange’s Kids Night… it was a Pajama Party! So of course I wore my comfy flannel pajama pants too (though only kids in PJs got the free ice cream).

Peggy had a wonderful craft idea – T-Shirt Pillows! The kids had a blast working with fabric markers to create customized cuddle pillows that they were able to stuff full of softness and then take home for sweet dreams.

So stop on by Chick Fil A on a Tuesday evening (I’m there from 5pm-6:15 most Tuesday nights) and join the fun!

The older kids were fascinated with the entire set up process, wanting to know what each item they helped carry in was for.  They also helped me set up the backdrop, and test the lights to make sure everything was the way I needed it before we brought in the rest of the family.

Little Trevor was a tiny gentleman in his ruffled tux front onesie and bow tie.  However, he really wasn’t too sure about this photos thing… especially having had only an aborted nap.  But he did love Mommy & Daddy making silly faces at him, and was great at “tummy time” poses!

We’re already planning a beach portrait session once he’s standing for this summer… I can’t wait!

Child Modeling – Headshots & More

 “Breaking In” Modeling Mini Session:  $225

In this short session, we focus on images to catch the eye of the casting directors and modeling agencies when on auditions.  This session is designed for aspiring child models to get images beyond the home snapshot, and thus improve their chances of selection.  It’s also a great way of getting a few new updated images of your little model should he or she have any major visual events (lost a tooth, new haircut, etc.) occur since the last headshot round.

This 15 minute session includes 3 images of your choice on CD.

“Breaking Out” Deluxe Portfolio Session: $450

In this extended modeling session, we focus on capturing a variety of different “looks” to showcase your child’s versatility and build their image portfolio.  We will photograph your child in a variety of outfits (talk to us about wardrobe suggestions) in order to maximize your child’s appeal to casting directors.

This one hour session includes a complete disc of images.

Last week I attended the “Ice Cream Sunday Extravaganza” Kids Night at Chick-Fil-A Orange… it was a delicious and treat-filled evening of fun.

I attend these events as the Chick-Fil-A photographer and its been fun getting to giggle with the kids and capture the fun they’ve been having at the restaurant.

On this particular night, I teased the kids about their ice cream having boogers in it (don’t judge, it got great giggles and smiles) and asked several to share with me… which had unexpected results: one little boy jumped up and ran over to ask his mommy if I could have some too. Another little girl looked at me skeptically, then told me that I could have one small bite of hers.  And my goddaughter handed me her spoon… that’s trust!

No, I didn’t eat any of the children’s ice cream… and for those that offered I complimented them on their wonderful sharing manners and let them know I was teasing.
