Fresh Faces Results!

Polls have closed for the Fresh Faces contest, and we have the results here!

First off, I am AMAZED at the amount of effort everyone put into getting votes – I can’t believe the victors needed to get more than 500 votes to win their division! Every race was really close, and I want to thank everyone for their great sportsmanship in this event- all the comments coming through on the polls were so supportive and loving of the kids.

Division Winners each receive a studio gift certificate for a family portrait session and 11×14 print as well as a week of unlimited boot camp with Transformed Bodies. Preschool and Elementary Division winners also receive a gift certificate for frozen yogurt so the kids too get a sweet treat!

Runner up families will also be receiving a prize option: to come to Park Day Minis on Sept. 19 for a family portrait, and have the session fee waived! (more info on park day minis here).  I’m also going to be picking up some extra frozen yogurt gift cards for the kids. You guys deserve ‘em!

Taylor – Old Town Orange

Taylor arrived for her Fresh Faces Mini Session in a pillowcase style dress her mom made for her and the moment I saw her I thought, “wow, that looks like a skirt I have…” and when she reached me I saw that it was, in fact, the same pink and white layered skirt that I own. Her clever mother had found one somewhere (I discovered mine at a thrift store, so what are the odds?) and cut it up and made it into a dress instead!

It became a great joke in the session: whenever Taylor started getting the forced smile on her face, I’d tease her about her wearing my skirt, and she’s pop back in with a great authentic grin.

Oh, and that amazing hat she’s wearing… her grandmother made it!

Taylor was quite determined to make sure she danced in the dress – she is a dancer after all – with its fullness she was able to get some amazing fabric height in her spins… and the challenge was slowing her down enough to not have the dress flying everywhere!

So here’s a a few favorites I wanted to showcase – amazing job as always Taylor!

Fresh Faces – Bonus Day Added!

We had an amazing weekend of Fresh Faces mini sessions, and due to the popularity of the locations we’re holding a Bonus Day this coming Sunday the 22nd from 4pm-6pm at The Main Library!

If you’re interested, you need to contact the studio (stefanie@stefaniecarlson.com or 714 423-0662) immediatly to reserve your session time as space is limited.

The Main Library is a beautiful location in Old Town Orange off Chapman and Schafer just ready for classic portraits – it may not look like much from the front (or the city web site) but with the arches, beautiful greens, and historical fountain, its a great place!

PS – I’m already scheduled to be at Eisenhower Park this Wed. the 18 if anyone wants to “sneak in” at 4:30 for a Fresh Faces mini session too – contact me to confirm your reservation.

Fresh Faces Contest

I’m looking for the cutest babies, preschoolers, and elementary age children ages  6 months to 12 years of age to feature on my newly redesigned website that’s due to launch in September – so its time to run a contest!

The winner of each category will win a regular family portrait session and 11×14 print, and the bonus prize of  a week of unlimited boot camp with Transformed Bodies for Mom or Dad since you’re in charging of getting your child the most votes.  Oh, and for the kids… Preschool and Elementary category winners will also get a gift card to their local frozen yogurt store for a sweet treat!

To enter, sign up for a Fresh Faces mini session on one of the designated days listed below.  Then, select your favorite image from the shoot to enter into the contest for online voting.

The Categories: Baby/Toddler (ages 6 months to 2.5 years), Preschool (2.5-5 years), Elementary (6 years to 12 years)

Fresh Faces Mini Sessions:

Entry fee is $25/child which includes the 10 minute session, entry into the contest, and your entry image as a 5×7 print.

After the session, we’ll arrange to meet to select your contest entry image and so that you can place an order for additional prints, files, and gifts.  Ordering will be off the regular a la carte menu, or you can select from special Fresh Faces only packages starting at $75.

Voting opens August 29 and closes September 4th. On September 5th, the winners will be announced.

Saturday August 14 at Eisenhower Park 3pm-5pm: Lush green trees and a beautiful lake make this an ideal portrait setting.

Sunday August 15 at The Main Library 5pm-7pm: A shaded alcove edged with flowers and a pretty fountain is the perfect location for portraits.

Your entry fee is due at booking: it reserves your time slot for your child’s session.

Deserving Dads – A Father’s Day Contest

proof-012With Father’s Day fast approaching, I thought this would be a great time to run a ‘deserving dads’ contest!  

The winning Daddy receives a certificate for a photo session with his children. 

The contest winner will be determined by online voting here at the blog: voting will open June 13 and close June 20th, and the winner will be announced on the 21st. 

So nominate your husband, brother, neighbor or friend if you think they’re an amazing daddy!

TO ENTER: Email me (stefanie@stefaniecarlson.com) with the following:
1) The name of the deserving dad you’re nominating
2) A picture of him having fun with his child(ren)
3) A few sentences explaining what makes him an amazing father
4) Your name and your relationship to this deserving dad

Enteries will be posted June 13 for voting… so by entering you’re agreeing to have the images and testimonial published here on the blog. 

That’s it! – But I can only take the first 20 entries, so make sure you send in your Deserving Dad contest entry asap.  Cut off date is June 12 to submit your contest entry.
