Dance recital season is here! Your little performer has worked hard all year learning the routines, she has her costume, and now it’s time to show what she can do!

Capture this moment with beautiful images of her in her recital costume on a set that evokes a back-stage at the theater feel.

Stefanie Carlson, your photographer, is also a dancer, so she has a background in dance posing from personal experience. And if you have a little boy who defies the stereotypes and dances, Stefanie knows how to pose him like the cool dude he is!

Date:  Friday July 30 from 9am-12pm &  Sunday August 1 from 1pm-5pm.  By appointment only.

Location: The Residential Studio located in Orange off Serrano and Nohl Ranch.

Cost: $25 retainer per costume. You will receive a $25 coupon for every costume slot you purchase, redeemable for prints and products for all orders placed by August 12.

If you have multiple costumes, you will have a 10 minute break between each slot to change, during which another dancer will be having her turn for pictures.

I will be happy to photograph siblings or other dancing family members together: please purchase an additional costume slot so we have enough time to devote to your group.

Proofing of your images will occur online in a password protected personal gallery. All of your costumes will be in one gallery. This gallery will be online for 10 days, and expires at 9pm on August 20. Your gallery access information will be emailed to you on August 5 (at the latest!)

In the gallery you will be able to go through your images and select your favorites for purchase. Each costume will have between 8-10 images to choose from. There are several packages to choose from that have no pose restrictions, or you can order off the a la carte menu. Prints, digital images on CD, storyboard art, jewelry, mini albums, and more are available for purchase in the online proofing system.

Restrictions and fine print:

These dance mini sessions are not affiliated with any studio: they are simply an opportunity for you to have your dancer photographed by Carlson Photography on these specific days at the Carlson Photography residential studio.

Sessions are for costumed dancers only. This is not for standard portrait sessions.

The $25 coupon per costume expires August 12, 9pm pst. No exceptions.

Failure to show for your time slot results in a forfeiture of your session retainer. If an emergency or illness occurs, please contact the studio so that we can attempt to reschedule you.

Should your gallery expire on August 20 without an order being placed, there is a $50 fee to rehost your gallery for an additional 48 hours to make your selections. If you are having technical issues or need assistance, please contact the studio before your gallery expires so that we can help you or make alternate proofing arrangements.
